2009 was an AWESOME year for us! It is crazy to look back at everything we did during this year as a family. In January, Connor was only 7 months old - our lil boy who was crawling all around trying to get into everything. We were living in downtown Santa Barbara enjoying the beauty living in the mountains at the ocean, but were SO happy when Mike got promoted to his new Government sales position in San Diego...we got to move back to our favorite spot, OB, and be near our old friends again! It was hard to say goodbye, but the change has been great for our family!
My photography biz has become quite successful (thanks to many dear friends here in SD who have spread the word), Mike has transitioned into his new job and loves what he is doing, and of course Connor has changed the most. He went through stages of crawling, first steps, walking, running and now is a little monkey who tries to climb and jump off everything. It was also a tough year finding out about Connor's eyes, but we were so thankful to be surrounded by amazing doctors who were able to help us. He is now 19 months old and is learning more and more each day.
Some of my favorite things about Connor...He will try to repeat anything you say, he will repeat his ABC's to you, count until about 15, skipping a few numbers here and there (today he counted to 15 perfectly on his own - amazing), he puts his foot up on the table when he eats, he still practices his sign language even though he can say the words, he will tell you "I love you Mama and I love you Dada" (when you ask), morning cuddles in bed, his kisses and hugs are the absolute best, he kisses and hugs his baby sister :D, he loves to read and copy Mama and Dada. Mike's favorite things about Connor...his more face, when he says "ocean", wants to ride in dad's truck, that he loves to toot, jump, do pull-ups, watch football, and uses binoculars to check the surf just like dada.
Connor has an awesome personality that I am sure will just keep growing! We are excited for a new year ahead of us as Connor is growing more and more each day, and our family will be growing too! Come April Connor's little sister should be here to make our family of four even more adventurous!
Thank you friends and family for helping us make 2009 such a fun year!!!

Christmas Morning

Just a few of Connor's favorite Christmas toys...

Mike had a a box full of cars like this as a kid

Santa brought a big fire truck!

Mommy and daddy bought Connor a potty :D
And yes...he is eating a cookie!
While we were opening presents he said "hungry"
and went to the tree and got a cookie to eat,
nobody noticed until he said "yum"

and a Mr. Potato Head

Grandma and Grandpa gave him a drum set!

This year we spent Christmas morning in Big Bear with Grandma and Grandpa Perry! It was a wonderful morning watching Connor open presents...He was spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa and Santa! It as just so sweet to see how excited he was about every present. As he opened boxes he was say, "wow" and "all right". The excitement in his voice makes be wish I could bottle that up forever.
It took Connor two days to open up all his presents, as he enjoyed playing with each of them after they were open. We encouraged him to open more, but really I am so thankful it took forever as next year I am sure he will open them so fast and want more when he is done!

We are so thankful to all our family and friends who sent cards, presents, emails, texts, and phone calls to our family over Christmas! We love you all and hope you had a wonderful Christmas as well.

Making Gingerbread Cookie Ornaments

He climbed up on the table to decorate and
took a bite before he even began frosting!

All done...YUM!

Craig and Sue plan for an edible Christmas Tree in Big Bear, so the animals all get a present too! We decorated Gingerbread Cookies to make as ornaments for the tree...Well with a 1 1/2 year old who LOVES cookies, many of them got eaten and a few were amputees :D, but it was a lot of fun!

The Perry Boys

The cabin was beautiful and full of snow! We had such a good time bundling up in all of our clothes to sled! It was freezing, but a few hikes up the hill you warmed up enough! Connor loved the giant nature made slide :D He woke up every morning saying Grandma, Grandpa and snow :D...Hopefully we will make another trip back soon to see it snow.
