We enjoyed an absolutely wonderful, much needed family day! It was amazing to have a visit from Mike's grandparents and Aunt & Uncle. With a couple of hours at brunch, we stuffed our bellies, sang songs together, enjoyed one another and did lots of laughing. It was perfect. We then headed to the poolside of their hotel. It was a beautiful & warm day, so of course our kiddos just wanted to swim. We also sat in the sunshine and listened to many stories about Grandma & Grandpa, the best of family times. I am so grateful to be apart of this family. I feel blessed in so many ways and I am very thankful they got to make a trip to California so we could spend time together. We LOVE you all!!!! XOXO

I love every bit of her.

On Fridays, Connor is in preschool and Taylor and I get to spend 3 hours, just the two of us. It is wonderful! I love it. I got two 23 months of just Connor and me, so sometimes I feel bad for Taylor as she only gets all my attention on Fridays. However, our Fridays are special. This past week we sat on the beach because I really just needed some quiet time. I watched Taylor do her thing and thought to myself how incredibly lucky I am to have a daughter. She is growing so quickly, developing her own little personality and is a mini me!!! She is sassy & cute, loves being outside, is a total tomboy as some days she refuses to wear a skirt or dress and picks out her brothers tees and hoodies, she has serious chompers, enjoys getting her toe nails painted, loves cleaning, is getting good at organizing, enjoys dancing, singing, cuddling, uses the sentence, "I want..." to many times in a day, and loves her brother unconditionally! She is my girl and I love her so.

Christmas was good this year. We were so thankful to have my Dad here with us. The kids slept in until 8:30, woke up and slowly made their way to checking if Santa came. Connor said he was not good and did not deserve presents, but I guess Santa disagreed :D. As soon as they started opening, they did not stop and were so excited opening everything they wanted. Connor said many times, "Santa knew!" It was a day of beautiful sunshine, lots of yummy food, relaxing in the backyard, happy kiddos and lots of good conversation. Dad & I also walked the beach, threw in a sand dollar to my mom and wished her a Merry Christmas!

What a fun Christmas weekend we had. As soon as we walked in the door the party begun with festive cocktails and Christmas karaoke. So sad I have no pics :( Connor was so cute, singing with Grandma! And did not end until we walked out after eating huge pieces of birthday cake for Grandma Big Ball.
Thank you Grandma Big Ball, Papa Strong, Uncle Stinky and Candace for celebrating a wonderful early Christmas together! It was perfect and special and will be a forever memory! We love you!!!!

My Little Fishes.

My little fishes are becoming awesome swimmers! Taylor is usually in a mommy & me class, but nobody in her class showed up, so Tay got a private and better yet I got to watch...Wishing the whole time I had my nice camera! Taylor is LOVING swimming. She has her arms and legs down, together, it is amazing...she just does not listen to stay on the tot dock when the teacher steps away with another kid. Hopefully soon it will click and she will want to be like brother and do it all on her own. Connor is doing awesome. I have seen a HUGE change in his swimming since we started contacts. He is swimming about 10 feet all on his own, taking breaths and LOVING that he can see everything. His favorite part is to be underwater, like a scuba diver, he says. We have started taking our own cars so he can dive down and get them off the bottom. Miss Courtney is Tay's teacher and Miss Amanda is Connor's teacher...We are incredibly thankful for them, they are awesome!

Lori invited us to roam Sweetwater Reservoir with her a couple weeks back. It was a beautiful day and it is so pretty walking to the water, I never even knew it existed...I LOVE San Diego. There is so much to do and see here. We also went and saw a ton of horses in the morning, which I did not have my camera with me. Thanks friends, for a wonderful day!

This was the beginning. I wanted to cut one down...To me it is way cooler, but it is not the same experience as I had as a little kid. These "Monterey Pines" as they call them, don't smell like a Christmas tree and don't look like a Christmas tree.

Little Miss P is Growing...

Tay Tay is a year and half now!!!!

Tear. I am sad she is growing so fast, but she is turning into a funny, sassy little girl.

She LOVES her Daddy the most! She asks for him all day when he is not around, she dances for him when he walks in the door. When it is quiet in the house, I will find her laying with the dog in his bed, playing iPad (which is not allowed unless she is with a grown-up), or unraveling the toilet paper roll. She looks up to her brother so much, enjoys playing with everything he plays with, at the same time, which causes fighting and Connor has nicknamed her "hitting girl." They also love to tickle each other like crazy, giggle and snuggle together before naps. When Taylor gets hurt she runs to me for lovin' :D, and gets a bump, bruise or cut everyday. She runs around the house with a dolly under her arm and a sippy cup in her hand. She loves to rock her babies, wrap them in blankets, push them in the stroller and put them "nigh nigh" (night night). Her addiction to "meme's" (milk) is beyond words, she chugs her meme's until it is gone. She goes through a gallon of milk in 4 days and I am not sure how I will ever break her of this. She is not the best eater, she LOVES fruit, yogurt, mac n cheese and spoonfuls of peanut butter. She has the sassiest looks for a 1 1/2 year old, can frown her brow like it is nobody's business, gives a serious stink eye when you tell her no and is a super cheese ball for the camera. She is fascinated with clothes, shoes, my high heels, make-up, lotion and toe nail polish. She brings me polish about once a week wanting me to paint them a new color. Taylor has many words now... daddy, mommy, nana (banana), meme (milk), DD (dog), dirt-E, i cheam (ice cream, another favorite food, owie, are-e (sorry), pease (please), pia (pizza), out (for outside), ya, no and even a few sentences "no, no, mommy and "i wan (want) mommy/daddy."
Taylor Sunshine Perry you brighten up our lives! We absolutely love you and are enjoying all your moments (even your cute tantrum right now ;D).

We are so lucky Mike works from home some of the time. These kids just can't get enough of him! He takes mini breaks to get hugs and kisses, eat lunch or tickle the kids. They are constantly knocking on his door, waiting for him to reply "come in." When he leaves for meetings, they dance at the door, happy he is home. He is the greatest dad in the world. I am so thankful for him, as he wakes up before the sun ever does and works so hard, all for us to live a fun and adventurous life! We love you Daddy!!!!

One happy Garbage truck, still in one piece at the end of the night.

Little late on the Halloween posting, but we had a very fun day. Halloween this year was awesome!!! As we sat in the halloween store, Connor was determined he wanted to be a garbage truck, but they did not have the costume. I searched and hunted...did not find a thing, so then put together this garbage truck in two full days with lots of cuts, burns, and cardboard box hunting. It was worth it though. He was the happiest garbage truck ever. Connor had also mentioned he wanted Taylor to be the stinky trash...after thinking and talking with friends, a trash bag was an easy costume to create :D. So you have it. A super cute garbage truck and his stinky trash. Connor adores his sister, likes to tell her what to do...so it was really perfect this year as Taylor is still at the age she has to go with the flow. Next year I am sure she will be telling me exactly what she wants to be. While trick or treating, Taylor would not let anyone put her candy in her bucket. She insisted that each one was opened and eaten along the way. I am still in shock how she never got sick. Connor was a trooper...never did I think it would be really hard to walk up and down stairs in a massive box or battle the 10 other kids in skinny walkways. He just smiled, asked for help and sometimes went back up to the same house after he got candy just to say thank you, again :D.

We also carved pumpkins on Halloween. After our pumpkins were stolen, Mike took a long lunch break so we could carve some new pumpkins with the kids.

As you can see we had a lot of good quality time hanging out with family. It was so very special to be able to spend all day with no worries other than being with family. I feel so incredibly lucky to have married into a family that is so loving and welcoming. I got to know Grandma and Grandpa Sundberg, which was wonderful, as well as the kids. Connor and Taylor both enjoyed playing stickers, coloring, watching movies and talking about all their toys and favorite movies with Great Grandma & Great Grandpa.

What an amazingly perfect day!!! We had so much fun meeting our friends in Julian for some good, fun, adventure! Hailey came with us...a friend whom I love like a sister. I have known her since the day she was born. The kids had a blast, climbing on everything, making cider, feeding animals, petting chickens, and going on a hay ride. Everyone was tired, ready for naps, but us mamas pushed them through with a perfect stop for ice cream and we got ourselves some yummy apple pie. We then picked apples until our hearts were content at Raven Hill Orchard (and ate more than we brought home, of course!)

Do I really need to write anything? Hopefully the pictures tell you the story of how awesome and fun our adventure as a family to Kauai was! I wish we were still on this adventure. It was perfect in every way. We had amazing friends around us at all times, soaking up vitamin d all day everyday, surfing til our muscles hurt, enjoying the beautiful fruit (okay, in cocktails most of the time) that Kauai offers and dancing until our hearts were content! Watching our awesome friends get married was an extra bonus! They are beautiful people, amazing friends and it was so special celebrating their day with them. We love you friends, we love you Kauai and hope to see you again soon!

1st Offical Day of Preschool

Connor had his first day of preschool last week! :'( I had tears...tears of happiness, tears of a proud mommy as he was so brave and excited to be a big boy and go to school. However, there were some tears that I feel like the baby years go by way to fast! I want to enjoy it even more!

Connor was trying out this preschool over summer. He LOVES it. The teacher is the same one who taught his Spanish classes, so an easy transition for him. His preschool is Spanish speaking as well, only speaking English if a child is not understanding specific instructions. He is going to have to teach his momma some Spanish ;D.

My family came into town for the weekend and it was a bit unusual. The blackout of SD was quite fun...we shopped at Nordstrom Rack with cell phone lights...haha! We ate lots of popsicles because I was worried they would all go to waste ;D and we opened up all of our boxes of glow sticks and decorated ourselves! It was good times.

It was also the weekend to fulfill Mom's wish and spread her ashes in the ocean. It was a beautiful day, a peaceful boat ride and perfect ceremony. The last day, we all spent the day at the ocean with her...a perfect way to end the weekend together.

I love pictures. I have not blogged any of this in two months. Some of these were taking the last week of July and I had forgotten the things we have done. Some days have been a fog, a blur...many of them we have stayed at home, but we have had our share of fun. Each day I feel a bit better, a little stronger and have really tried to focus on my kids...filling their lives with love and happiness as that is what my mom would want the most. We have had many cries too, Connor is a hugger, a lover and always reminds me that it is okay and he is here for me. He is SO sweet. We all miss Grandma...talk to her often, look at pictures of her and blow her kisses. Most of all, we are thankful she looks down on us seeing the kids smile and hearing their laugther.

I have millions of pictures, which I am so very thankful and I have thousands of words I could say, but I have no clue where I would ever begin.

My mom. It is so upsetting we lost her so suddenly. She is such a wonderful woman, a mother and a grandma that will be missed a lot. She was a lover of all, found the good in everything and everyone. She had a heart of gold and shared it with everyone, willing to be there for you whenever you needed. She was a MOM, the best mom. I could write for hours telling you everything she taught me. That was her life and she was so good at it. The thing I will remember the most and pray will become apart of me, is to LOVE UNCONDITIONALLY, like she did to me and everyone. Really, I don't think anyone on this Earth knows unconditional love like my mom did. She was an AMAZING Grandma. She knew my kids, so well, and helped me with advice almost daily on raising them and LOVED them with all her heart.

This month has been hard, very hard. My house has been full of many emotions, lots of talking about my mom and looking through hundreds of beautiful pictures of her. Everyone always said I look so much like my mom, I never thought so much, but looking at her when she was young, the early years of being a mom we look a lot alike and it feels so good. I am happy to resemble apart of her. She will remain in my heart forever. And I will forever strive to be a mom like her!

One of my favorite things right now, is witnessing Connor's love for his Grandma. He misses her, a lot. He talks to her daily, waving up to the sky to tell her hi and that he loves her. He often tells her how he is going to come visit her in heaven, by airplane, a really tall latter and some rope. He has worn a sticker on his heart, for the past few days, informing me that Grandma will always be in his heart. What a sweet love he has for Grandma and I pray his memories of her will last a lifetime. Taylor smiles big, getting so excited, pointing at Grandma in pictures.

I am sure I will find ways to write more about her in the future. She was the reason why I started this blog. She loved this blog so much, commented on every single post, and would worry when I did not post for a while. We talked everyday, if I did not have a reason why I needed to call, I just called to tell her I loved her. She will be missed forever!

The 4th was awesome. We spent a wonderful weekend at the cabin with family, friends, yummy food and lots of drinks :D! It was super hot, so Papa went out and bought a pool for the kids, which was a hit. Connor has mastered the cabin rocks. He loves adventuring around the cabin and sister is following in his footsteps. She did quite well walking all around the hills. On the 4th, we told Connor it was America's birthday...he was very excited to eat cake and watch the fireworks. He waited so patiently and cheered throughout the show, that ended with the greatest grand finale I have seen. Thanks Papa and Grandma for a perfect weekend!

We went up to Grandma Big Ball's house (Papa Strong was on a biz trip) for a few FUN nights. She always has something fun planned. This trip we went to Clairemont (well we always end up there because it really might be the cutest town that is not located on the beach). The kids went into the funniest petting zoo. It was 5 bucks to run around and pet a families dogs, chase their ducks and laugh at their squealing pigs! The camel was fun and the pony ride was by far Connor's favorite. He still asks if he could go again. They actually had these ponies trot and Connor got the giggles and would not stop. Taylor could have danced all night, the only way we got her away from the music is when they would take breaks :D...I think she might need to start dance classes soon :D (oh boy, I am turning more girly everyday raising this little one!)

For Father's Day weekend, we headed to Jalama for a fun filled camping trip with awesome friends. Jalama is one of our favorite places to spend a family weekend, and one of Mike's favorite places to surf, therefore THE place to go for father's day! Everyday we are so thankful for how hard Mike works for our family. He works 12 hour + days at work, and comes home to want to play with the family. I am not sure how he does it, maybe the 12 cups of coffee help, but I think it is more his love for his children. He would do anything for them!!! He adds the adventure to our family, provides more laughter than we can handle at times and is the rock that provides for us to live such a blessed life! You are incredible Mike, and I am so thankful I chose you as my husband and the father of our kids!

Becky, as most of you know is my dearest friend who lives in Australia. Yes, way to far away! It is always so special when she comes to visit. This time we have been really lucky. She came down and stayed with us while Mike was away on a business trip. We had so much fun, hanging out at the beach, hiking, shopping...She has such a fun spirit, loves photography like I do (that is why I was so lucky getting lots of pics, as 99% of these she took :D) and the outdoors. I LOVE her, I just wish she could be my neighbor! We LOVE you Becky and cherish every moment we get to hang out with you! You are a wonderful friend!

Mike's work sponsers the Mud Run every year and we get complete royal treatment, it is wonderful! I just wish I could run with him :D. However, this year was fun waiting during the race as Connor was Daddy's biggest fan and yelled through out the race, "Go, Daddy, Go!" even when we could not see him. They have lots to do for the kids while they are waiting and Connor ran right towards the gun. He wanted to shoot like the big kids, badly. The guy said he needs to be able to hold the gun by himself, so I let him try. Sure enough, he walked right in like he does it everyday. I am a bit scared :D. I don't like kids playing guns! I am all for him learning about guns and knowing how to handle and shoot one when he is a bit older, where he really comprehends how dangerous they are! However, I will admit it was pretty cute seeing him be so big, so excited and pretty good at handling this gun. Mike's team did awesome, came back really muddy with big smiles on there face!

Connor is such a big helper in the garden lately. He loves helping water and picking the vegetables that are ready. Our strawberries have been growing great and they are a wonderful snack with playing in the backyard. They usually don't make it in the house. You are three, oh my! Where did your little rolls go? What happened to having to cuff all your jeans? What happened to just talking with sign language instead of talking back? Or you just needing to be held, instead of dropping you off for classes without mommy? Ahhhhhh, these three years have gone by way to quickly. Can you stop growing for a bit, I want to enjoy this crazy toddler stage of yours more! I learn something new from you everyday! You amaze me. Yesterday was my favorite...You walked up to your sissy, "I am delighted to see you baby sis. I missed you." Really? Are you always that sweet. HA. They don't say terrible two's for nothing. You sure do keep me on my toes, teaching me patience, and unconditional love. You make this world a brighter place Connor...your smile is contagious. Taylor LOVES outside more than pretty much anything. She cries and throws a tantrum by the door if you don't let her go out and she wants outside. I swear she mumbles outside in her 1 year old voice. Today was raining and she threw a tantrum. When she was finished I got some boots (a five minute craft project, bc yes she gets her brother's hand-me-downs, to make some bows on the skulls) and let her outside. She was not a fan of the rain in her face. But what a great lesson learned. Next time I will give her an umbrella - lol.

An Awesome Mother's Day.

There is no greater gift than children. I am so thankful I too can celebrate Mother's Day. Connor and Taylor have changed my life. Each day I experience a love that I never knew existed before having them. They continuously challenge me as I strive to be a better mom. There is a handful of women who play a very important role in my life as I raise my kids. I am so thankful for them, as I have learned being a mom might be fun, but it is not easy.

Last week I got to be with my amazing mom, whom I find I am becoming more and more like. I suppose it is because I watched her be my mom for 28 years now. She has shown me a lot about the gift of love. I also got to spend time with my mother-in-law, who has given me great advice and support while being a mom. Two women who I admire and inspire to be! Yesterday on Mother's Day I got to spend the day with one of my favorite mommy friends, Lori! She is there for me day to day, inspiring me, encouraging me, giving me support and advice. A good close mommy friend is exactly what everyone needs! I am so thankful I have just that!

Thank you Michael, for making me a mommy! Thank you Connor and Taylor for being the sweetest, cutest, and sassy little monsters that I could not live without!

On the way back down from Northern California we went to Pap Strong and Gramma Big Ball's house for a few days. Gramma made a visit to UCLA with us. Another visit to tell us Connor's right eye is getting worse, worse than it was three weeks prior. It was heart breaking news, not what we want to be hearing about our little guy. Another appointment is scheduled for the end of the month to see his eye doctor. Thank you Gramma for always helping us at our UCLA appointments, you are the best! Thank you for a fun three days of playing and snuggling!

We had an awesome trip to Grandma and Grandpa's house! The drive was SO easy and I was VERY worried about it. I had no expectations, but a plan and it worked like a charm! 7 hours in the car each way and no electronics (they were offered, but I Spy won :D!) I had my 10 year high school reunion...I can't believe it, but I went and it was fun. We had non-stop visitors at the house and for the most part the kids were awesome! Lots of park time, play time, picnics, some swim time and lots of snuggles! Sundberg had a lot of fun playing with Cody...they were perfect for each other and both so sad to say goodbye. Sundberg did not eat for three days! Thanks Mom and Dad for a wonderful time!

Grandparents are the absolute best. Great Grandparents (they receive the prefix of Great for a reason ;D!) are amazing. They have lived the life, experienced a lot and still have love to share! This is my Grandpa. A man I love dearly and look up to. Taylor has become VERY shy, took to her Great Grandpa instantly when she saw him, smiling and reaching for him. It was the sweetest thing.

You are 1 years old today! I can't believe how fast this year went by. I feel like I was just anxiously waiting for you to be born. You came on one of the best days of the year too...Earth Day! And I believe you truely love this Earth. You sit at the front door for long periods of time staring outside or playing. You cry if I close the door and don't let you go out to play. You fit in this family so well ;D!
It has been amazing watching you grow. You were such a petite baby, so soft and snuggly. Now you are a little walker and climber. You follow your brother and try everything he does (it makes me so nervous, but you are quite successful and getting faster). If you fall or can't do something you keep trying or scream. A VERY loud girly scream! You are loud, love to talk and talk like we all know what you are saying. You say hiiiiiiiii over and over, picking up my cell phone to talk. You just started saying ya and doing a crazy head shake for no. You have a special dance called the TayTays, it makes us laugh. I love watching you play hot wheels, break train tracks and walk around the house carrying your doll under your arm. You are precious Taylor! I wanted your middle name to be Sunshine since I knew you were a girl. You really are sunshine...You light up each day, your smile is contagious, your hugs are so loving. You are beautiful Taylor. After our trip to UCLA Gramma had a fun idea of going to Chuck E. Cheese. Connor and Taylor have never been. I don't think I have been in the last 20 years. I had no clue what to expect, but I can say it was A TON of fun. We had plans to only go for an hour, but managed to stay and play forever. Oh boy I have missed you Skee Ball! When we got in the car to drive home Connor told me his favorite part was, "climbing in the tunnel, so high, so you could not get me." lol. Thanks Grandma and Papa for a great way to end our trip with you!

Last Saturday morning we ran with Mike's co-workers in the ACT for Families Autism run. It was such a fun way to start the weekend off. BC (before children) Mike and I enjoyed running races together and we have not done any together since Connor was born. It was not really a race, just a fun run as we were moving at the pace of our kids ;D! The kids loved it, we loved it and it was all for a great cause! At the end of the run there were so many fun activities for the kids, and of course ours LOVED the jumpy house ;D! I know this will not be our last ;D!

Connor has been taking Spanish classes for a few months now. He LOVES it and enjoys using words and singing songs randomly! I was very excited when my mom was here because I was finally going to capture some pictures, but he was super quiet and did not participate (complete opposite of who he is). Little did I know that he was going to come down with a nasty infection. Hopefully soon as he really likes his class and teacher!

Eleven Months...Already!

Seriously, eleven months have gone by SO fast. I think I can say this was the fastest eleven months of my life. I feel like I was just waddling anxiously awaiting her birth! She has grown so fast and with each sunrise, I love her even more! She is now walking everywhere, wanting to keep up with her brother. Watching them play is priceless...from snuggles, hugs, kisses, hide & seek, peek-a-boo and wrestling! She enjoys waving, saying hi and bye. She is always so proud of her accomplishments...clapping at everything and giving high fives. She has the cutest "Tay Tay dance" swinging her arms and head when music is on. I could go on and on...We love you Miss Taylor Sunshine!!!!
